Medium is the new WordPress!

Medium is the new WordPress!

October 9, 2015

I guess at this moment, everyone knows that at digjitale.com we use WordPress as our CMS solution. It's simple, easy to setup and super powerful to manage content and what else. It's one of the most popular publishing tools on the web today.

74.6 Million sites depend on WordPress, 22% of new U.S. registered domains Run on WordPress, 6 New WordPress.com posts every second and of the top 1,000,000 sites in the world, the number of business sites (most popular with WordPress) powered by WordPress is five times the number of WordPress-managed news sites (least popular with WordPress).

About two years ago entrepreneur and mastermind of blogging platforms, Ev Williams, creator of Blogger (which was later acquired by Google), co-founder and investor to Twitter, launched a new venture, named Medium. "Medium has become an ideas exchange, where thinkers, creators, and those with a story to share come to find their audience, move people, and move us all forward." says Ev in his own words.

Introducing Medium's New Logo from Medium on Vimeo.

This week, Ev wants to take Medium to another level, by announcing a couple of new updates that bring Medium to the next level and integrate it much more with content creators. New apps to read, share and discover content, Mentions to interact with users that create content over Medium, Editor Updates, Publishing API which means that you can now share your story on Medium from anywhere, and we integrated it with our web as well (starting today here at: medium.com/@digjitale), new custom domains and a new Medium Logo. ON Medium

From a personal experience on blogging, Medium is the most easy to use, distraction free and creative solution to write content directly on the web, and it's even going in the direction of replacing traditional word processors. The best of it, people can reply onto your content directly, not through traditional commenting, but by a direct reply that gets uploaded as a new post right away and cross-mentioning the users in the conversation. And as Ev put it, Medium is just getting started, so we're looking forward towards the next upcoming changes and how Medium will become a solution for content creators.
