BLOG: Flooding in Accomack Co.

Over the past couple of hours we have been tracking a couple of storms with heavy downpours over Accomack Co along the Eastern Shore.  Accomack Co has picked up roughly 2-3 inches of rain in the last two hours, which has led to flooding across Highway 13.

Right now, all lanes of Highway 13 South at Parksley Rd. are CLOSED due to standing water.

We will continue to track heavy downpours and frequent lightning over the next couple of hours.  A *FLASH FLOOD WARNING* will remain in effect for Accomack Co until 6 PM.  If you come across a road that is flooded, do NOT drive through it – turn around and seek and alternate route!  You should also be careful around streams and small rivers, the water could rise quickly.  Be prepared to move to higher ground if necessary.
