VULNERABILITY ------------------------- WordPress Plugin Spider Event Calendar 1.5.51 - Blind SQL Injection II. BACKGROUND ------------------------- WordPress event calendar is a FREE user-friendly responsive plugin to manage multiple recurring events and with various options. III. DESCRIPTION ------------------------- This bug was found using the portal in the files: /spider-event-calendar/calendar_functions.php: if (isset($_POST['order_by'])) { /spider-event-calendar/widget_Theme_functions.php: if (isset($_POST['order_by']) && $_POST['order_by'] != '') { And when the query is executed, the parameter "order_by" it is not sanitized: /spider-event-calendar/front_end/frontend_functions.php: $rows = $wpdb->get_results($query." ".$order_by); To exploit the vulnerability only is needed use the version 1.0 of the HTTP protocol to interact with the application. It is possible to inject SQL code. IV. BUSINESS IMPACT ------------------------- Public defacement, confidential data leakage, and database server compromise can result from these attacks.
