BLOG: Sweltering

That's really all I need to say….it has been sweltering for the past several days.  Some days have been worse than others, but I wouldn't exactly call any day 'refreshing'.

Before we talk about another scorching hot day, lets get through tonight first..

We'll be tracking mainly clear skies overnight with temperatures dropping into the mid-70s.  No surprise here – it's going to be another warm and muggy start to your Monday.  Monday will be one of the hottest days of the week with highs in the mid-90s and dewpoints in the mid-70s.

Heat indices will range from 100° to 108°.  No heat advisories have been issued yet.

Unfortunately, we won't see as many big, puffy cumulus clouds tomorrow, so we'll be sizzling under the sun all day.  On these bright and hot days, you need to take care of yourself, your pets, and check on the elderly.

If you're heading to the beach to stay cool, make sure you wear plenty of sunscreen and keep re-applying throughout the day.  A beach umbrella wouldn't be a bad idea either.

A cold front will approach the region on Tuesday.  We will likely see a few scattered showers develop Monday night into Tuesday morning.  After those showers move out, we'll go back under partly cloudy skies with highs near 90°.  Another round of showers and storms will develop Tuesday evening and continue through early Wednesday morning.  Expect increasing sunshine through Wednesday morning along with much cooler conditions behind that front.

Temperatures will finally, FINALLY be back in the mid-80s Wednesday and Thursday.  The cool down will be short-lived since the mercury will return to the 90s Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Hey, at least we get a cool down..enjoy it while it lasts!
